Megan Thee Stallion has regretfully canceled her appearance at the highly anticipated 2023 Global Citizen Festival due to unexpected scheduling conflicts. The Houston native was originally scheduled to take the stage alongside an impressive lineup of artists, including Lauryn Hill and Red Hot Chili Peppers.

An event spokesperson conveyed the news, stating:

“Due to an unforeseen scheduling conflict, Megan Thee Stallion will no longer be available to perform at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival,”

While specific details surrounding the scheduling conflict remain scarce, representatives for the rapper have yet to respond to inquiries regarding the change. This development undoubtedly disappointed many fans who were eagerly anticipating the artist’s live performance.

The annual Global Citizen Festival brings together leaders from around the world to commit to actions addressing critical issues such as climate change, gender equality, and the eradication of hunger. The organization’s official website emphasizes the need for a global movement to address significant challenges, including the rising levels of extreme poverty, the impacts of the climate crisis, gender inequities, global hunger, and the shrinking of civic space.

Despite this setback, Central Park in New York City is still preparing to host an eclectic lineup of artists on September 23. Newly added to the roster are Anitta and Jung Kook of BTS fame, the latter of whom collaborated with Latto on the track “Seven” earlier this year.

While Megan’s absence from the event means one less opportunity to see the rapper in the tri-state area, fans can still anticipate her performance at the 2023 MTV VMAs. Megan Thee Stallion is set to grace the stage at New Jersey’s Prudential Center alongside Cardi B on September 12.

With Nicki Minaj serving as the host of the award show, there’s also a promising chance that Megan and Cardi will deliver a performance of their 2020 chart-topping hit, “WAP.”
