Tory Lanez “Prison Taps” Come To An End
The incarcerated hip hop star Tory Lanez released new music from behind the bars, which stuns his fans. On July 26th, Lanez kickstarted his recently announced Prison Tapes by dropping two new tracks, “Cell 245” and “Wish I Never Met You.” Both songs tackle his struggles in life and deep reflections of the past. “Cell 245” opens with a prison phone call from Tory, where he finds himself reflecting on past traumas and the temptations in his success. While “Wish I Never Met You”, touches a softer side of Tory where he showcases emotions about becoming hooked in a toxic relationship over a Afro-beats inspired instrumental. What stunned his fans was the crisp sound quality of the songs considering the songs were recorded in prison. A lot of fans are impressed and this new project has gained him a lot of attention. When announcing his new project Prison Tapes, Tory claims he “cracked the code” to successfully crafting a studio-level sound from behind bars. He planned to release new music every week and this will give him an opportunity to reflect and heal. Tory Lanez is currently facing a 10 year sentence after being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion during a heated dispute in July 2020.
However Prison Tapes have come to an end! According to reports, prison guards recently raided Tory Lanez’s cell block and confiscated all of his studio equipment. Reportedly, Lanez was informed by police officials that he’s not allowed to have recording devices behind bars. Lanez is currently holed up at the California Correctional Institution. His team is currently waiting to see if Lanez will face any further consequences, so it’s looking like his fans won’t be getting any new music any time soon.
Despite Lanez’s current situation, supporters have been playing their part. Recently, his single released in 2021 “The Color Violet” surpassed a billion streams and celebrities such as Drake are still calling for his freedom.
