Lil Durk Trial Date Pushed Back to October
Lil Durk, born Durk Devontay Banks, is looking at a new trial date of October 14 in his murder-for-hire case in Los Angeles.
The Chicago-born rapper originally had a trial date set for January 7, 2025, but according to reporter Meghann Cuniff, that has been pushed back. Cuniff states that the discovery process is extensive, as the prosecution revealed they have approximately 230 GB of digital evidence.
The evidence includes a mix of audio and video recordings, along with surveillance footage that could play a critical role in the trial. It is believed to be approximately 20,000 pages of reports detailing violent acts, witness statements, photographs, and medical records.
According to BallerAlert, one of Durk’s codefendants, Deandre Dontrell, may be considering a plea deal. Deandre’s lawyer recently requested a “pre-plea sentence report” which would determine his criminal history category under U.S. Sentencing Guidelines. Judge Michael Fitzgerald ordered the preparation od the report on December 27. This signals to a possible movement towards a resolution for Wilson without a full trial having to take place.
The “All My Life” rapper was arrested on October 17 near Miami International Airport. Authorities believe he planned a hit on rapper, Quando Rondo in retaliation for King Von’s 2020 murder. Unfortunately Rondo’s cousin, Lul Pab was killed in the 2022 ambush.
