For years, a contentious custody battle has raged between Nipsey Hussle’s estate and his ex-partner, Tanisha Foster, primarily centered around their daughter, Emani.

Radar Online reports that the latest development in this ongoing feud involves Hussle’s estate, which is now accusing Foster of possessing an “unlawful” recording.

On September 15th, court documents obtained by the outlet revealed that Foster is seeking the removal of Emani’s guardian ad litem, William Spiller. This demand comes just weeks after Spiller accused Foster of having an “unlawful” recording of a conversation involving Emani.

Spiller maintains that any conversation he has with Emani is protected under attorney-client privilege, and Foster’s alleged recording of this conversation directly violates that privilege. Despite Foster reportedly providing the tape to a judge in November of the previous year, Spiller asserts that such a recording is unequivocally unlawful.

Spiller is now pushing for sanctions against Foster, totaling $2,500, a sum Foster disputes she should be liable for. In her counteraction, Foster did not specify why she wishes to have Spiller removed as the guardian ad litem, and the court documents, heavily redacted, provide limited insight.

Back in 2019, the court awarded guardianship of Emani to Nipsey Hussle’s family, denying this right to the birth mother, Tanisha Foster, whom Hussle’s family had labeled as “unfit.”

The court found that Nipsey’s family had presented sufficient evidence to support their petition. Consequently, the late rapper’s siblings, Samantha Smith and Sam Asghedom, along with his mother, Angelique Smith, now serve as Emani’s guardians.

In a separate legal proceeding, Lauren London, who shares a son named Kross with Nipsey Hussle, sought guardianship over her son’s estate. Despite previous clashes between London and Nipsey’s family regarding Kross, a judge ultimately granted London control over her son’s financial affairs. Kross is anticipated to inherit approximately $1 million, with an additional $1 million designated for Emani.
