During the episode, hosted by basketball star Angel Reese, Nicole hinted at a past relationship where she was dumped for a “singer/actress” — and fans quickly connected the dots to Taylor and her ex-husband, Iman Shumpert.

Nicole, who is known for her past relationship with NFL star Travis Kelce, mentioned a painful breakup during the podcast. She described how she was left heartbroken after being dumped via text for a famous woman, which later became a highly publicized celebrity relationship. Fans speculated that Nicole was referencing Shumpert and Taylor, especially since Nicole dressed as Taylor from Kanye West’s “Fade” music video for Halloween in 2016.

When the clip went viral, Taylor took to Instagram to address Nicole’s comments. Taylor expressed frustration over the indirect shade thrown her way, writing,

In another post, Taylor playfully referenced Taylor Swift, soundtracked by Swift’s “Shake It Off,” and hinted at her upcoming projects, with a note about her excitement for 2025.

Though Taylor and Shumpert have since divorced, Taylor made it clear that Nicole’s insinuations felt like a calculated attempt to bring her into unnecessary drama.
