On October 13th, Offset, one-third of the iconic hip-hop trio Migos, released his highly anticipated sophomore album, SET IT OFF. This release marks a significant milestone in his career, as it represents his first solo project in four years.

SET IT OFF is an extensive 21-track effort that features a star-studded lineup of collaborations, including Cardi B, Future, Travis Scott, Latto, Don Toliver, Young Nudy, Chlöe, and more. The tracklist was unveiled earlier this month, sparking excitement among fans and fellow artists alike.

Leading up to the album’s release, Offset treated fans to a taste of what’s to come with two enticing singles: “JEALOUSY,” featuring his wife Cardi B, and “FAN.” The latter single featured contributions from AMP House members Kai Cenat and Fanum and paid tribute to the legendary Michael Jackson through various wardrobe looks inspired by the late singer’s iconic moments.

In a recent interview with Apple Music, Offset opened up about the album and the impact of his fellow Migos member, Takeoff, who tragically passed away. He expressed:

“Even on my own journey, I still feel [Takeoff’s] presence and his energy like, ‘Bro, we got to go hard. We got to win. We got to win. This ain’t the end of it. We got to win.’ So that’s another thing that pushed me through is my boy, Take, man. He didn’t care that he didn’t care about the numbers, nothing. He like, ‘Bro, y’all s**t hard.’ He’s just very supportive in that. I just keep that in the back of my mind and just keep pushing.”

Offset fondly remembered Takeoff’s supportive and caring nature, stating:

“Take had that… He just had good character. He just was like, ‘I make music with people that love my music, and I love everybody.’ He’s a loving person, man,” the rapper told Zane Lowe. “It was just a tragedy my boy had to go like that, man. But I’m pushing for him too. Legacy, the group thing is it can’t be a group because our main member is missing.”

SET IT OFF comes on the heels of Offset’s debut solo album, FATHER OF 4, released in 2019, which included the multiplatinum hit “Clout.” The project showcased an array of guest appearances, with contributions from artists like Gunna, 21 Savage, CeeLo Green, and J. Cole. Now, with SET IT OFF, Offset is back to make his mark in the hip-hop scene once again, and fans are ready for this next chapter in his musical journey.
