Tony Shhnow has just shared a new music video for “Time Takes II”, off of his new project Love Streak. After introducing Atlanta’s buzzing “plugg” sound to the Hip-Hop mainstream with his breakout hit “Vet,” Tony Shhnow has continued to release music at a breakneck pace – sharing three projects in 2022 alone: Kill Streak 2 (Deluxe)Plug Motivation, and Reflexions, all of which received critical acclaim from PitchforkThe FADERAudiomackOkayplayer, and Stereogum among others.

Breaking away from his traditional “plugg” sound that he’s played a huge role in championing, Tony’s new project, Love Streak finds the Atlanta MC rapping with a sharp and well-researched East Coast flair over new-age boom-bap production as he fills the rhythmic space with lover-boy raps, his dizzying technical ability, and an impressive guest list to match. With his new music video for “Time Takes II,” Tony Shhnow is continuing to usher in his new era by leaning into his new expressive sound and delivering aesthetic visuals inspired by 2000’s R&B videos to match.

In the new video for “Time Takes II”, directed by Sincerely Mizu, Tony and his love interest showcase their tight-knit relationship, taking Polaroid pictures and enjoying each other’s company in their loft. In the process, Tony Shhnow expresses his candid willingness to do what it takes to ensure that the spark stays there – “I’m bein’ patient, I can feel that grip gettin’ a lil’ bit tighter, we ‘gon make it / This life a gamble, if you don’t learn how to risk, you ain’t ‘gon take it”, he raps in the passionately-delivered hook. Fresh off of the release of Love Streak, his most ambitious project to date, highlighted by the singles “Real Rare” and “ILY / IH8U,” Tony Shhnow uses the entirety of Love Streak, whose name is a spin-off of Tony’s official Kill Streak mixtape series, to continue expanding upon his dynamic sound.

As a whole, the new project is a strong shift for Tony, as he replaces cold-hearted raps with flirtatious bars over smooth-sailing SolangeSWV & Kut Klose samples – welcoming a rarely heard but welcomed emotional presence across its 16 songs with features from MaviDRAM3AG PilotUnoTheActivist under his new artist name Act & Lil Crank.
