PULSE Music Group co-CEO’s Scott Cutler and Josh Abraham along with President/Head of Creative Ashley Calhoun announced today that they have formed a publishing creative joint venture with hitmaker and PULSE Music Group client, Cordae. Through the deal, Cordae becomes the head of his own publishing company, HI-LEVEL Publishing (a joint venture with PULSE Music Group) and will sign and develop his own roster of recording artists, songwriters and producers. PULSE Music Group signed Cordae to its publishing roster in 2019 and continues to represent his music publishing worldwide.

2023 has been off to a brilliant start for the two-time GRAMMY® Award-nominated, Platinum-selling Maryland-raised, generational talent and songwriter, Cordae. In January of this year, Cordae released his explosive single “Two Tens” with Silk Sonic member Anderson.Paak, produced by J.Cole. It is not the first track that Cordae and .Paak have dropped together: “Two Tens” marks the duo’s second collaboration in nearly four years after the success of their RIAA platinum single “RNP.” In February of this year, Cordae launched his PUMA x Cordae HI-LEVEL collaboration encompassing sneakers, clothing and more in his newly minted collection. Now with the establishment of HI-LEVEL Publishing with PULSE Music Group, Cordae is showing no signs of slowing down.

Scott Cutler and Josh Abraham commented: “We’re very happy to give Cordae this platform to create a diverse and rewarding environment for music creators and to continue to build upon our already successful relationship with him. Cordae is a highly gifted creator with incredible business acumen and the dialed-in instincts of a true entrepreneur. He knows how to create impact for himself and others while staying 100% true to himself. We knew this creative joint venture was something that was absolutely right for PULSE Music Group and are excited to partner with Cordae on this next step in his journey.”

Ashley Calhoun commented: “We signed Cordae four years ago to his first and only publishing
deal—he’s family to us. The PULSE Music Group team shares a similar creative vision and approach to building a creative community. As Cordae enters this next phase of his life we are excited to sign incredible talent together. Cordae works to impact the world and culture in a positive way—everything he is involved in, from his music to his business collaborations, is an extension of that.”

Cordae commented: “I chose to do a JV with PULSE Music Group because they operate the same way that I do: quality over quantity. We want to hyperfocus on a few talented producers, songwriters, and artists to really give them the most attention and opportunities to flourish, while still being able to develop and create. I’m looking forward to building a super team of quality talent and giving opportunities to talented musicians, producers, artists, and songwriters to excel in the music space where opportunity and access is unlimited. And I believe there is no better partnership than with PULSE! They’re killers who are passionate about the art.”

Cordae speaks from a place of truth. That’s why the rapper/songwriter has quietly become one of the modern generation’s most trusted narrators. A remarkable life has given him a lot to say. He went from trailer parks and public housing with his mom to stratospheric success. After a series of buzzing singles, he reached critical mass with his 2019 full-length debut, The Lost Boy. It bowed in the Top 15 of the Billboard Top 200 and included four gold-certified singles— “RNP” [feat. Anderson .Paak], “Have Mercy,” “Broke As Fuck,” and “Kung Fu.” Beyond unanimous praise from Billboard, Complex, High Snobiety, New York Times, Pitchfork, and Stereogum, he garnered a pair of GRAMMY® Award nominations in the categories of “Best Rap Album” for The Lost Boy and “Best Rap Song” for “Bad Idea” [feat. Chance the Rapper].

He’s the rare artist whose presence can be felt on-screen in a Super Bowl commercial alongside legendary Academy® Award-winning director Martin Scorsese and among XXL’s coveted “Freshman Class.” Along the way, he linked up with Roddy Ricch and Ant Clemons for “Gifted” as well as joining forces with Eminem for “Killer.” Absorbing wisdom from a life-changing trip to Africa, enduring the loss of a friend gone too soon, and evolving as an artist and a man, he tells this story in widescreen technicolor on his 2022 second full-length offering, From A Birds Eye View [ART@WAR/Atlantic Records]. Cordae followed up the release of his sophomore album with From A Birds Eye View (Live) album. His TED Talk entitled “How A ‘Hi Level’ Mindset Helps You Realize Your Potential” has accumulated over 3.9M views. From the release of his Unacceptable EP and the accompanying visuals from both singles, to his recent collab with Hit-Boy on their “Checkmate” track from the Madden NFL 2023 Soundtrack, Cordae is showing no signs of slowing down. He kicked off 2023, with his explosive collaboration with Anderson .Paak “Two Tens” and his continued takeover of 2023 will see flurry of releases, collaborations, and a 28-city tour with Lil Wayne called Welcome to Tha Carter this spring after their successful collaboration on “Sinister,” featured on Cordae’s 2022 album From A Bird’s Eye View.
