Jamaican-born international artist Popcaan’s highly anticipated album ‘Great Is He’ is out now & heating up the airwaves. The Unruly Boss has been teasing this project for over a year now so fans were very excited for its release on January 27th. The 17-track project features artists like Burna Boy, Drake, Chronic-Law & Toni-Ann Singh — with each track providing something new to the listener.

The album opens up with the song “Defeat The Struggle”. On this track, Popcaan is reflecting on where he is coming from and the obstacles he has faced – and most importantly how he has conquered them.

“Defeat the struggles caz we never give up

Being at the top is kinda lonely, you nah mean

You know we haffi make it by any means.”  He Sings.

Popcaan is also tapping into various genres on this project – with tracks like “Aboboyaa” featuring Burna Boy – we see Popcaan entering the AfroBeats genre. This is Popcaan’s second track with Burna Boy & it truly is a hit.

Now we know a Popcaan project is of course going to have a Drake feature. Drake & Popcaan’s relationship goes way back and since Popcaan is a part of Drake’s OVO Sounds label it’s only right the Canadian-international artist makes an appearance on the album. The track “We Caa Done” was released as a single prior to the release of ‘Great Is He‘. The music video was shot in Turks & Caicos as well. Showing Drake & Popcaan having a grand ole time. The song is definitely a feel-good tune perfect for the clubs.

Popcaan is certainly still giving classic Dancehall tunes on ‘Great Is He’ as well. “Cry Fi Yuh Body” is definitely providing those sexy & lyrical vibes we all love. “Freshness” & “Skeleton Cartier” provide those gangsta & lyrical vibes perfect for a good turn-up too.

The project ends with ‘Great Is He’ a song highlighting Popcaan’s gratitude for life and his blessings. Overall this is a solid project and it’s amazing to see Popcaan’s growth through this new body of work.
