Afrobeats for the win!
Its been two years since the release of his album, Grammy-nominated Made in Lagos, which came out in 2020 but Wizkid is putting on for Nigeria once again as he just released his new album today with, More Love, Less Ego via StarBoy/RCA Records. The 13-track star-studded set includes appearance from fellow Afrobeat artist Ayra Starr (“2 Sugar”), while elsewhere on the project we see reggae and dancehall stars such as Shenseea and Skillibeng (“Slip N Slide”) and Skepta & Naira Marley make a guest feature on cross-genre blended “Wow.” Lastly, Don Toliver appears on the vibey “Special” cut.
The album, which was originally set to release last week got pushed back and includes the singles “Bad to Me” and “Money & Love.” His last album, Made In Lagos received billion streams and was certified gold by the RIAA. The album’s deluxe version spawned the remix to “Essence” featuring Justin Bieber, which peaked at No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Fans across the world can catch Wiz’s performance for Apple Music Live, which will be available to stream on Nov. 14. Two days later, he will headline his first-ever show at Madison Square Garden in New York, followed by a performance at the American Music Awards on Nov. 20, where he is nominated for two awards.
