The 2022 American Music Award nominee list has been released and the star on everyone’s radar this year is Bad Bunny, who is coming strong with the most nominations.

Bad Bunny has a total of eight AMA nominations this year, which includes his first nomination for artist of the year. If he takes home the awards for all eight of his nominations, he could be in a tie with Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most wins in a single year. In 2021 K-Pop super group BTS won the highly sought out artist of the year award.

Beyoncé and Taylor Swift are the most nominated female artists this year and each has six nominations. Of these six, the two will go head-to-head in three categories, artist of the year, favorite female pop artist, and favorite pop album. Drake also is being recognized with 6 nominations, one including artist of the year. If Bad Bunny manages to win all 8 awards it would add to the super year he has had so far selling out all his shows in his widely acclaimed “The Worlds Hottest Tour” the tour broke records, putting Bad Bunny’s name on the highest-grossing concerts in history. Among the highest-grossing shows to date, Bad Bunny’s second night in L.A. is at No. 2, the first night in L.A. is at No. 3, and the Chicago show is at No. 6. To add to his accolades, Bad Bunny was awarded a day of his own in L. A, October 1st is now officially known as Bad Bunny Day.
