Last night July 22nd things were definitely taken up a notch at the annual Reggae Sumfest Festival in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The lineup included Reggae and Dancehall acts like Spice, Alkaline, Aidonia, TeeJay, Ishawna, Skeng, Shenseea, and more. Last night was the first set of performances with more taking place on July 23rd.

International Jamaican superstar Shenseea shut down the stage performing some of her fans’ favorite Dancehall hits and in a stunning all green outfit. Shenseea came into the game in 2016 under Romeich Entertainment with her first single “Jiggle Jiggle” and has made her mark in Dancehall ever since. She has worked with Dancehall and Reggae legends like Vybz Kartel, Beenie Man, and more. Prior to her debut album ‘ALPHA’ which was released on March 11th, 2022 Shenseea had already released over 70 songs.

With her extensive catalog and stellar live band, Shenseea was able to provide fans with diverse songs ranging from the beginning of her career until now. Some of these songs were “Blessed”, “ShenYeng Anthem”, “Upset”, “Foreplay”, “Can’t Anymore”, “The Sidechick Song” and more.

Shenseea also took the audience by surprise when she brought out rising Dancehall artist 1Biggs Don. 1Biggs became popular after his freestyle “Bwoii Affi” went viral on social media. He has gained co-signs from many artists including Drake, Popcaan, TeeJay and now Shenseea. It’s truly amazing to see newer Dancehall artist like 1Biggs receiving love and for Shenseea to uplift emerging artist who are making their impact on the Dancehall culture.

Lastly, fans couldn’t get enough of Shenseea and her son Rajeiro who she brought out to perform her song “Lighter” to close out her performance. It was a true beautiful mother and son moment. Overall Shenseea showed Sumfest how much of a great performer she is and that although she has gone international she’ll never fail to put on for her home country of Jamaica.
