We have learned that Hip Hop mogul and pioneer Sean “Diddy” Combs aka Brother Love, may have just landed a new joint venture deal with the legendary Motown Records label. While the details are still premature at the moment, theJasmindBrand was the first to report the news. If you recall, Diddy has been heavily in the studio these past few years working on the follow up to his 2006’s Press Play, which was also follows 2010’s Last Train to Paris Dirty Money album with Dawn Richard and Kalenna and his previously released project MMM (Money Making Mitch) in 2015.

While its unclear if the new venture will house his label, Bad Boy Records, Puff did previously announce he was launching a new imprint titled, Love Records and had signed Grammy-nominated songwriter, Stacy Barthe (whose written for Beyoncé, Britney Spears, & Rihanna), whom he has been in the studio with working on the new album.

The project, which was aptly titled Off The Grid Vol. 1 at the time may have a new name since we’re sure Diddy has taken on a different direction musically but that is all still speculation. It was initially slated for a September 2021 release but has since been pushed back. The late Chucky Thompson was one of the producers originally helping craft the project before his passing in August of last year.

Mixing engineer Derek “MixedbyAli” Ali posted back in January photos via Instagram that shows him in the lab with Diddy working on the highly anticipated album.

Rumor has it that the reason for the delay of Diddy’s new album may be due in part to his label transition since leaving Interscope from their last deal. Also, word around town is that Atlantic Records may still have ownership of his Bad Boy imprint, hence why he recently founded, Love Records.

Hopefully his new home will also house his current roster with the likes of King Combs, Machine Gun Kelly, etc.

Diddy also announced that he will be hosting and executive producing next month’s Billboard Music Awards in Las Vegas on May 15 via NBC/Peacock.

“This will be unlike any awards show – I’m bringing the love and setting the frequency at an all-time high,” said two-time BBMA winner Combs in a statement about his run at producing the show, which the release promises will include a reimagining of the broadcast that will feature several surprises. “The Billboard Music Awards truly represent the artists and where music is today, so I’m excited to curate the biggest live performances and surprises. The world has to tune in to see.”

This will celebrate and mark 25 years since Diddy took him his first trophy from the ceremony for his then debut album, No Way Out in 1997.
