It is being reported that Kanye West, who is now referred to as Ye has pulled out of the upcoming Coachella 2022, which is slated to kick off next weekend at Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. TMZ broke the news earlier, but after reaching out to Ye’s reps, there has been no word on why he’s canceling his appearance at the 2-weekend long festival.

Previously, West blasted fellow Coachella headliner, Billie Eilish for her recent comments regarding Travis Scott, and requested that he apologized to him since he was planning on bringing him out during his set. If you all remember clearly, Travis was under fire after 10 innocent people died during his Atroworld Festival back in November of last year. The “Hurricane” rapper had alleged Eilish “dissed” the Scott in a since-deleted post to his Instagram on Feb. 10. The pop star, according to concert footage that shows her helping out a fan in need of an inhaler, said, “I wait for the people to be OK before I keep going.” West perceived that to be a diss to Scott in light of the Astroworld Festival tragedy.

Not to mention, it came to many as a surprise that Ye was even headlining the major event since he’s been receiving tons of backlash for his erratic behavior as of late in regards to his attacks on ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s new boyfriend, Pete Davidson and their children in the media. In the past several weeks West has taken to social media to air his grievances about co-parenting issues with Kardashian. There is no word from the festival organizers on whether they’re going to replace Kanye as of right now, but more details should surface soon.

The annual event is held over two weekends at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, and this year is scheduled to take place April 15-17 and April 22-24.
