The Saga Continues: 1501 Certified CEO Carl Crawford Countersuing Megan Thee Stallion For Possible Mixtape Drop

Carl Crawford is back in the headlines for countersuing his soon-to-be former artist Megan Thee Stallion. It was announced on Monday that the label 1501 is claiming that her 2021 project Something for Thee Hotties wasn’t an album and should not count toward their contractual agreement.

The countersuit was filed on Monday, March 21st which is a month after Meg hit 1501 with a suit. Crawford’s 1501 says that the project was a compilation of past and present material and not an album, according to TMZ. According to Complex, if a judge finds that Something for Thee Hotties doesn’t count toward her record deal with 1501, the 27-year-old will owe the label two more albums.

Megan’s Lawyer, Brad Hancock released a statement saying “This is yet another absurd attempt by 1501 to disregard Megan’s album and squeeze more money and more free work out of her for as long as possible.”

Megan wasted no time heading to Twitter to call out Carl Crawford for the suit:

Megan didn’t just stop there. She alledged that Carl Crawford was addicted to pills.

Meanwhile, in response, Carl Crawford accused Megan Thee Stallion of “playing the victim,” and hiding behind Roc nation.

“Stop playing the victim @theestallion,” he wrote on Instagram. “U haven’t paid for 1 show since 2019 🤬 hiding behind #Rocnation .. U can keep that b####### ass mix tape and send over that straight drop whenever u ready🤘🏾”

The record label CEO also made it clear that he did see the rapper’s claims of his drug abuse and made some allegations of his own.

I guess we will wait until next month for the story to continue…
