Here Are The Rappers Nominated For Grammys This Year

Per tradition, every November a new list of picks are chosen as contenders to be recognized by the Grammys as the best the year has to offer in each category. While Hip-Hop fans may still have a bad taste in their mouths over Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city losing to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ The Heist, The Grammys still serve as a lifelong dream for many artists.

While Hip-Hop fans may still have a bad taste in their mouths over Kendrick Lamar’s good kid, m.A.A.d city losing to Macklemore and Ryan Lewis’ The Heist, The Grammys still serve as a lifelong dream for many artists. So without further ado, here’s the list of rappers who have been tapped as contenders for the 2022 Grammys.

‘Up’ – Cardi B
‘my.life’ – J. Cole, 21 Savage, and Morray
‘Way 2 Sexy’ – Drake, Future, and Young Thug
‘Thot S**t’ – Megan Thee Stallion

Best Melodic Rap Performance
‘pride.is.the.devil’ – J. Cole and Lil Baby
‘Need To Know’ – Doja Cat
‘INDUSTRY BABY’ – Lil Nas X featuring Jack Harlow
‘WUSYANAME’ – Tyler, The Creator featuring Youngboy Never Broke Again, and Ty Dolla $ign
‘Hurricane’ – Kanye West featuring The Weeknd and Lil Baby

Best Rap Song
‘Bath Salts’ – DMX featuring JAY-Z and Nas
‘Best Friend’ – Saweetie featuring Doja Cat

Additionally, two rappers have been nominated for record of the year, three nominations for album of the year also belong to Hip-Hop, one nomination for song of the year are primarily Hip-Hop acts, and finally, two rappers have been nominated for Best New Artist. Among those nominated for record of the year are Doja Cat for ‘Kiss Me More’ featuring SZA and Lil Nas X for ‘Montero.’ Doja Cat’s Planet Her, Lil Nas X’s Montero, and Kanye West’s Donda represent Hip-Hop for album of the year. Lil Nas X’s ‘Montero’ is the lone representative for Hip-Hop amongst the song of the year category. Lastly, Baby Keem and Saweetie represent Hip-Hop in the Best New Artist category.

The 2022 Grammys will be broadcasted on CBS and held in the Staples Center or Crypto.com Arena at the time of recording, in Los Angeles on January 31st, 2022.
