Big Sean on LA Leakers

In what has become a must-see for anyone who likes bars and freestyles, LA Leakers has provided the stage to some of the best freestyles of the year. Rappers like J. Cole, Vince Staples, Ski Mask The Slump God, Migos, and Polo G have put their best foot forward in showcasing what fans can expect from the albums each respective artist would release. Adding his name to this already impressive list of rappers is Detroit’s own Big Sean. While he doesn’t currently have any music to promote, Big Sean’s presence on the show is still notable because, as mentioned in conversation after the freestyle, Sean hadn’t been on the show in over ten years.

The Detroit 2 rapper is still as sharp as ever with Big Sean providing bars with ease over beats from ‘Dear Summer’ by Memphis Bleek & Jay-Z, ‘Love All’ by Drake, ‘Hurricane’ by Kanye West, The Weeknd, & Lil Baby, and ‘Who Want Smoke’ by Nardo Wick. Throughout the freestyle, Big Sean raps about breaking generational curses, NBA players missing shots in his girl’s DMs, and the Tuskegee experiment. Sean also displayed his Hip-Hop savvy by including the signature “what the f*** is that” line on Nardo Wick’s ‘Who Want Smoke,’ then continuing to reference the hit track by providing his own counting bars, mimicking the track’s first verse.

The list of contenders for best freestyle of the year has now become more crowded with the new addition Big Sean’s latest appearance on LA Leakers. As fans wait for new music from the Detroit superstar, it’s safe to say Big Sean has thrown more fuel on the fire with this latest display of Hip-Hop excellence.
