Ahead of his full-scale Hip Hop grand opening, new Detroit rapper Tape delivers an appetizing teaser in a set the bar music video which pays homage to his beloved Motor City called “Hometown.”

A latest from his junior album, The Real Detroit 187, “Hometown” is a new addition to Tape’s essentials that includes previous hits like “Detroit Needs Me” and “Tape and Juan.” Available via DWI Entertainment, “Hometown” is a welcome home celebration for featured act Street Lord Juan. Longtime collaborators, the two galavant throughout the streets in the flyest cars and designer fabrics in the new visual revealing the next phase of both artists’ career entering 2021.

Tape is not your average rapper, he’s a triple threat. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, a city so de riguerur as a region filled with potential but stricken by cold harsh reality and unique beauty for its citizens it has become a punchline. Throughout music history, the city has forged from the fire several of the most influential recording artists of all-time. Tape – after years of releasing music underground, capitalizing on street-level views of impoverishment and money motivated speaking in his Detroit state of mind — speaks of himself in an aggrandized sense, with the mix of ego and confidence that comes from having defied the odds to become the kind of artist regularly covered by national platforms and debated by grassroots fans as to his place in the pantheon of Detroit greats.

Tape is an individual who devised the blueprint on how to create an empire fortified by resilience, distinction and hip-hop. Today’s release is proof the rising star separates himself from the rest in today’s hip hop through leaps and bounds as a self-contained jack-of-all-trades. While preparing newfound fans for what’s to come in the next generation of Motor City music.

“Hometown” comes in support of Tape’s upcoming docu-series,titled, Health & Hustle. An eye-opening exploration into the life of a triple-threat success on his way to building his own empire. Demonstrating how to balance love, hustle and success as he maneuvers throughout the country conducting business in the major market areas like Los Angeles on various professions.
