Kevin Ross is an up and coming artist out of D.C. He attended a performing arts high school and went on to earn a degree from Berklee College of Music. His career began as a songwriter, getting his first placement with Jamie Foxx, which was followed by Ross writing and producing songs for such artists as Johnny Gill, SWV, and Trey Songz.
In 2017 Kevin released his long-awaited debut full length album, The Awakening. The album’s first single, “Long Song Away” peaked at #1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Song chart and at Urban Contemporary Radio with the follow up single, “Don’t Go”, cracking the Top 15. The chart-topping success of The Awakening led to Ross receiving several award nominations: Best New Artist (Soul Train Awards), Outstanding New Artist (NAACP Image Awards), and New R&B Artist (iHeart Radio Awards).
R&B Singer, Songwriter, and Producer Kevin Ross emerges with a brand new single as he prepares to release the second installment off his sophomore album, Audacity. “God Is a Genius” will serve as the first single from Audacity, Vol. 2, which is scheduled to be due out in July.
Ross says about the track
“This record couldn’t have come at a better time. It’s starting to warm up outside and cities are slowly beginning to open up. Great vibes to bring us into our new normal. He adds “Don’t be confused by the title, it’s not a gospel record lol. This song is for everyone who believes in love.”
Audacity, Vol. 1 was released in January 2020 and it debuted at #3 on the iTunes R&B albums chart. Thing Called Love, the lead single from Audacity Vol. 1, cracked the Top 20 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart and was named the top song at Sirius XM’s Heart and Soul.
“God Is a Genius” will be available on May 29th via Art Society Music Group/EMPIRE. Ross continues to make a significant mark on the contemporary music scene as he kicked off the new year debuting at #3 on iTunes R&B Albums chart with Audacity Vol 1. “Thing Called Love,” the EP’s lead single, recently entered the Top 20 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart and was named the top song at Sirius XM’s Heart and Soul.
