Medium’s Debut EP Is More Than Music – It’s a Narrative

Rising R&B artist and storyteller Medium has officially released his debut EP, Running In Circles, the follow-up to his breakout single “Don’t Change.” The project, driven by themes of authenticity, emotional healing, and the cycles of modern love, marks a bold entrance into the Brooklyn indie music scene.
Rather than relying on typical industry rollouts, Medium – born Micah Minter – embraced a grassroots strategy centered on blogging, narrative-building, and guerrilla marketing to tell his story directly with listeners. His approach, which blends foundational marketing tactics with personal storytelling, reflects a deep commitment to transparency, community, and artistic integrity.
“I love that I don’t have any expectations as a new artist,” Medium says. “I have a fresh start to make genuine connections. What I don’t love are the digital-only, low touch campaigns that don’t bring music to a space offline.”
Despite confusion from a few social followers who weren’t familiar with his unconventional rollout, Medium stayed grounded in his vision. For him, the strategy wasn’t about hype – it was about keeping it real.
“It’s been a goal of mine to release an EP that tells a story and connects to real events in my life – no pretending,” he explains. “Authenticity is important to me. People want to know the human behind the persona. Not the money, not the cars – but the soul. Performative personalities don’t work anymore. Fans can see right through it.”
Running In Circles explores the emotional loops we repeat while searching for love, connection, and peace. Through lyrical vulnerability and soulful production, Medium unveils a narrative arc that mirrors the lived experiences of many modern listeners.
Following the EP’s release, Medium plans to expand into livestreaming and interactive engagement to further deepen his connection with his emerging fans.
“I know blogging and guerrilla tactics can only go so far,” he says. “People also want to interact online with the artists they follow. I’m ready for that.
