Trinidadian Composer Jonathan Corbie Gains Momentum in Hollywood

Trinidad and Tobago–born composer Jonathan Corbie is emerging as a rising voice in Hollywood, bringing a distinctly Caribbean influence to contemporary film and television music.
Corbie’s recent work includes scoring for Angel Studios’ Tuttle Twins Animated Series, along with sound design contributions for several major studio marketing campaigns, including Fast X, John Wick 4, Boy Kills World, and ** Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves**.
Known for blending classical orchestration, jazz harmonies, and Caribbean rhythmic elements, Corbie has developed a style praised for its emotional clarity and vibrant textures.
Raised in Trinidad and Tobago by musician parents, Corbie began performing at age seven, later touring London with his school choir and performing for the President of Trinidad and Tobago. His early artistic experiences also included collaborations with calypso legend Black Stalin and roles in musical theatre.
Beyond film, Corbie’s concert works have been recorded by ensembles such as the Budapest Scoring Orchestra and Brightwork New Music Ensemble. His newest composition, Structures I & II, created for a Trinidadian rhythm section and recorded by the Point Fortin Iron Giants, is set for release next week.
Corbie’s latest film project, Untouchable: Laughing Out Caste, recently concluded its North American tour. The documentary, featured in The Guardian, follows comedian Manjeet Sakar’s journey to the United Nations.
As he continues to merge Caribbean identity with global cinematic language, Jonathan Corbie is quickly becoming one of the region’s most notable musical storytellers.
