Gunna is Back with Vengeance!

Gunna came back with a mission! His new album, “The Last Wun,” was released today on August 8th, 2025. This album is his sixth full-length studio album and his second project since his release from prison. His personal, prized album features collaborations with artists like Offset, Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Asake. It’s rumored this album will potentially be his last under the Young Stoner Life (YSL) label as well.  With all things Gunna post-YSL trial, the fans continue to speculate about the status of his relationship with Young Thug.

“It’ll come to me just through life and just living,” Gunna told Uproxx. “So for this album in particular, it’s no theme. It’s in the current time of what’s happening with me.”

The aftermath of the YSL RICO trial has cast a long shadow over the close relationship between Gunna and Young Thug, sending the fans and industry into a frenzy. This particular album carries more weight than just its tracklist. Many see his last project with YSL as a symbolic farewell to a chapter of loyalty, legal struggles and what seems like betrayal. The fans were quick to scan for any signs of “lyrical breadcrumbs” about the fallout. On the track 8, “Prototype,” Gunna fires back with one line that caught everyone’s attention: “N***a had tweeted my name, must’ve had to be a typo.” This remark is widely seen as a direct response to a specific tweet Young Thug later deleted. Although Young Thug never confirmed the post and its disappearance, this only intensifed the speculation around their strained relationship.

Despite the feud, his album is already climbing the charts and drawing attention for both its artistic value and its potential as a closing statement. As the dust settles, what was once an artistic kinship has turned into a tense, unresolved saga. However, at the end of the day, the music often speaks louder than the men behind it.
