Harlem’s Own Cam’ron Secures Major Book Deal, Memoir Coming 2026

Hip-hop legend and Harlem native Cam’ron is adding “author” to his already impressive resume. The Dipset frontman has officially signed a $750,000 book deal with publishing powerhouse Simon & Schuster to release his first memoir, slated for February 2026.
The forthcoming book promises a raw, unfiltered journey through Cam’ron’s life — from growing up in the streets of Harlem to reaching the top of the rap game, and later becoming a respected media personality, entrepreneur, and cultural icon. Known for his Harlem swagger and straight-no-chaser delivery, Cam’ron will share never-before-heard stories, life lessons, and personal reflections on hip-hop, hustle, and staying power.
“I’m happy to have this deal done,” said Cam’ron. “Hopefully the book will be released in February of 2026, and that everyone can take something from my memoir when they read it.”
The announcement follows Cam’s multi-million dollar deal with Revolt for his hit sports show It Is What It Is, and the release of his independent film Is It A Crime, which he wrote, produced, and starred in. The film is currently streaming on Apple TV and Amazon Prime.
Cam’ron’s influence spans music, fashion, film, and sports media. As a founding member of The Diplomats (Dipset), he delivered chart-topping hits like “Oh Boy” and “Hey Ma,” and helped usher in a Harlem renaissance in early 2000s hip-hop. His iconic pink fur coat at the 2002 Baby Phat fashion show remains one of the most referenced fashion moments in pop culture, inspiring artists like Kanye West, Rihanna, and Lil Nas X.
Beyond music, Cam has made his mark as a style trendsetter, sneaker collaborator, actor, philanthropist, and talk show host. In 2016, he gave away more than 1,600 pairs of sneakers to kids in Harlem. He’s hosted charity events for Adidas Skateboarding and remains a committed voice for his community.
Cam’ron’s sports talk show It Is What It Is, co-hosted with Ma$e and Treasure Wilson, recently landed at #6 on Complex’s list of the “25 Most Entertaining Sports Media Personalities Right Now.” He’s also been featured on the covers of GQ HYPE and Black Enterprise.
As Cam continues to expand his media empire, his upcoming memoir is poised to offer fans an intimate and powerful look at the man behind the music, the movement, and the mogul mindset.
