Halle Bailey has taken legal action against her child’s father, DDG, to protect herself and their son, Halo.
On Tuesday (May 13), Halle was granted a temporary restraining order against DDG, whose real name is Darryl Granberry Jr. The restraining order was filed on behalf of herself and the pair’s 16-month-old son. The Little Mermaid star stated in the legal documents that, “Throughout our relationship and continuing to date, Darryl has been and continues to be physically, verbally, emotionally, and financially abusive towards me.”
Bailey recounts the mental abuse she faced, stating that he badmouths her to his millions of fans: “As a result, I then receive threats and hate on social media.” Earlier this year, DDG was seen on his stream claiming that he was being withheld from seeing his son. He also alleged that Halle had been with other men during their relationship — claims Halle has not addressed.
Halle stated that the pair’s relationship ended last year due to Darryl’s temper and lack of respect. She mentioned that Darryl has gotten physical several times, even prior to Halo’s birth. Since the breakup, DDG has been seen online taunting Halle on several occasions. The lawsuit details how this harassment occurred behind closed doors, with DDG calling her profanities, labeling her “evil,” and making last-minute demands to see their son.
“He then slammed my face on the steering wheel, causing my tooth to get chipped.”
The “Forgive Me” singer detailed one altercation that occurred when Halo was 13 months old. Halle stated that DDG became agitated after she asked him to “set a schedule” for when he would bring Halo back. Moments later, things became physical between the pair. Halle described how they “fought each other, wrestling and tussling. At one point, Darryl was pulling my hair.”
She recalled how she wanted to get out of the car with Halo, but in that moment, she felt stuck. She claims that DDG drove off to his house with her still in the car. Once they arrived, she says she begged his family for help. Photos of the incident were included in the lawsuit. Halle also recounted other alleged altercations, including receiving threats via text.

Fans have had mixed reactions online. Some are showing support for Halle, while others are saying this isn’t their fight and that people should mind their business. This echoes a previous moment when Halle revealed her pregnancy and, in response to fan concerns, essentially told the public to respect her privacy.
