PartyNextDoor is walking back his recent shots at Tory Lanez after realizing he may have misinterpreted the incarcerated rapper’s words.

On February 26, Party previewed a diss track aimed at Lanez during an Instagram Live session, rapping, “F**k what Tory Lanez say… I’m running that,” and accusing Lanez of copying Meek Mill’s style. The track also seemed to reference Lanez’s guilty verdict in the Megan Thee Stallion case.

The diss came shortly after Lanez, currently serving time in prison, praised Party during a video call, saying, “PARTYNEXTDOOR showed his best work of 2025.” However, Party later admitted he had only heard secondhand accounts of Lanez’s comments before recording his response.

Hours after previewing the track, Party took to Instagram Stories to issue an apology. “You didn’t say anything I wouldn’t say myself,” he wrote. “Now that I’ve seen it, I was wrong. City is stronger together.”

Fans were left puzzled by the brief feud, especially since Drake—who has publicly supported Lanez—continues to align himself with both artists. The misunderstanding highlights the fragile dynamics within the Toronto music scene, though PartyNextDoor’s quick retraction suggests he’s more interested in unity than ongoing beef.
