Jay-Z Name Cleared in Lawsuit, Case Against Diddy Still Ongoing

The lawsuit accusing Jay-Z and Diddy of raping a 13-year-old girl in 2000 has officially been dismissed. Jane Doe’s attorneys withdrew the case.

Filed in October 2024, the lawsuit accused the rappers of drugging and assaulting a minor at a VMA afterparty. Jay-Z was added later.Court documents confirmed the voluntary dismissal was filed “with prejudice,” meaning the case cannot be refiled. Jay-Z called it “a victory.”

In a statement, Jay-Z said the allegations were “frivolous” and “fictitious,” adding that the trauma affected his wife and children.Doe initially claimed Jay-Z and Diddy assaulted her while another celebrity watched. She later admitted inconsistencies in her account.

Her claims included her father picking her up after the assault, but he denied remembering. She also named a witness who wasn’t there.Photos also showed Jay-Z and Diddy in different locations that night. However, their whereabouts for the full evening remain unclear.

Diddy’s legal team previously denied the allegations, calling them “falsehoods.” His attorneys said lawsuits against him were “built on media headlines.”Jay-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro praised his client for fighting back. “He never settled, never paid a penny, and cleared his name.”

Jay-Z also accused Doe’s lawyer of “blackmail” and attempting to pressure him into settling. He vowed never to pay.Despite this case being dismissed, Diddy is still battling over 40 civil lawsuits. His racketeering and sex trafficking trial starts in May 2025.
