DeJ Loaf Shuts Down Drama With Jacquees’ Fiancée, Deiondra Sanders

DeJ Loaf is making it clear—there’s no tension between her and Jacquees’ fiancée, Deiondra Sanders. The “Try Me” rapper addressed the situation during a recent interview with Hot 97’s Nessa, where she and Jacquees were promoting their long-awaited joint project, Fck a Friend Zone 2*.
Leading up to the album’s release, Deiondra—daughter of NFL legend Deion Sanders—publicly accused DeJ of ignoring her and claimed the duo was “faking a relationship” to push album sales. When asked about it, DeJ shut down the speculation.“I respect people’s relationships,” she told Nessa. “But do y’all respect the friendship? I stay out of the picture unless it’s business. [Jacquees and I] don’t even hang out as much as we used to.”
DeJ admitted that Jacquees’ past girlfriends haven’t always been fans of their dynamic. She believes it’s because of the natural chemistry they share. However, she made it clear that if her respect is ever in question, she has no problem walking away.“If any of his women feel like they don’t have to respect me, then I don’t have to be his friend,” she said. “We can end the friendship if my respect is on the line. I won’t be disrespected.”
Jacquees also weighed in on the situation, suggesting that Deiondra doesn’t fully understand the music industry.“That’s why you see outlashes on the internet,” he explained. “I think she does that probably to be heard or something. Of course, I don’t like it, but I try not to indulge.”
The conversation then turned to Deiondra’s absence from the “Favorite One” video shoot. Fans speculated that DeJ didn’t want her there, fueling rumors of underlying drama. However, Jacquees said it was all about respect.“Whatever [DeJ] wants to happen on these sets gotta be done,” he explained. “It’s nothing to disrespect nobody.”
He also made it clear that since this was a true collaboration—not just a solo Jacquees track—he had to respect DeJ’s creative boundaries. He went on to say that “If she was just a feature,” he would have been able to have his own set of rules. Hinting that there may be underlying issues causing the two women not to feel comfortable in one room.
Despite the explanations, fans in the comments weren’t convinced. Many felt that allowing DeJ to speak on his fiancée was a bad look, while others pointed out that the two seemed too comfortable with each other.
Regardless of the outside noise, Fck a Friend Zone 2* is set to drop Friday, Feb. 14, bringing fans more of the signature chemistry that made the first installment a success.
