Duke Deuce Delivers a “Pressure” Track
Duke Deuce announces that he will be releasing a new song every Friday until April.
Memphis crunkstar Duke Deuce has released his next single called “Pressure” that is released on all streaming platforms. As he has been on a successful run with the back-to-back singles “The Right 1” and “Trick Hop.” The Memphis rap sensation has ignited the music scene with a series of weekly releases. As he is known for his high-energy performances and crunk sounds, Duke has consistently captivated his audiences with his fresh and signature sound.
We have caught up with Mr. Crunkstar himself and discussed on what gave him the idea to release weekly hits, what was it like making the iconic “Trick Hop” track, and more.
Duke, what made you want to start dropping music every Friday?
I feel like I’ve been held up for so long waiting on the next thing when I’m really the answer. My fans want consistent music and I’m consistently working on beats and recording. My team has been on me about releasing the music and right now I can honestly say I’m having fun with my music again. I feel light, I feel creative, I feel CRUNK, and I’m just excited to keep this going.
With all these singles dropping weekly, can you confirm a new album is on the way? Will it be whole new music? or the music we have already heard before?
At the moment I’m focused on just releasing weekly. There might be an album soon and there might not. I think everyone should tune in. I’m working on a lot of different things right now.
With your recent single “Trick Hop,” what was it like to make the track? What was your goal when finishing such a hype track? Will there be a new curated dance?
Trick Hop was a song I made based off what I see hip hop becoming now. I ain’t knocking nobody but I’m speaking the truth. A lot of rappers are rapping about tricking on women in every song. It’s not a lot of curated true hip hop like we seen with the OG’s going on right now.
Jookin’ is in me. I don’t come up with a dance for every song. When yall see me Gangsta Walkin’ it’s more of an at the moment feeling. You’ll see me play around with the word play of the song or do my footwork and tick to the beat. There’s no certain dance to the song.
As you are releasing your anticipated single “Pressure,” what were some of the pressures when making or even leading up to dropping the track? or was it any pressure on your side as an artist to perfect the craftsmanship?
Man! Shit! This year I said I was keeping it raw with my fans so the real PRESSURE behind all of this is that I’ve been in a waiting game for a minute to be officially be released from my previous situation. It’s a matter of legalities that are taking place. It just all creates pressure. I have a family to provide for, I’m a creative so creating and not being able to do it to the highest extent would like to is difficult at times but I’m head high this year and just keeping myself lifted, staying creative, and praising my ancestors for guiding me this far and I’ll be alright! Pressure burst pipes!
