Sexyy Red Issues Apology to Bernice King

Sexyy Red, born Janae Nierah Wherry, issued an apology to the daughter of Martin Luther King Jr. after posting an AI generated photo of the pair to her X account.

The photo in question was posted to Janae’ sX account, formerly known as Twitter, on Martin Luther King Day this past Monday. While no caption was shared with the photo it’s no secret that people may view it as distasteful. Among the people offended by the post was Bernice King, Martin’s daughter who publicly reprimanded the St.Louis rapper.
Ms.King took her X account letting it be known:
“This is intentionally distasteful, dishonoring, deplorable, and disrespectful to my family and my father, who is not here to respond himself because he was assassinated for working for your civil and human rights and to end war and poverty. Please delete.”
The “U My Everything” rapper took immediate action to fix the issue at hand. Tweeting from her own account “You ain’t wrong, never meant to disrespect your family my apologies.Just reposted something I saw that I thought was innocent”
Since then the posted has been deleted from Sexyy X page and all parties have moved forward peacefully. Many praising both women for their grace and respect to one another during the interaction.
