Busta Rhymes Facing Assault Charges
Busta Rhymes, born Trevor Tahiem Smith Jr., is facing three assault charges after allegedly lashed out at his assistant for being on his phone during work.
According to the New York Post, a law enforcement source told The Post that Rhymes punched the 50-year-old in the face severa times leaving him with swelling in the left eye. The “Touch It” rapper turned himself in after the January 10 incident. According to sources the incident took place inside a luxe condominium complex – J Condominium – in Dumbo.
The Post reached out to Dashil Gables, the victim, who mentioned his lawyer advised him not to speak with press. He then added: “Maybe later. Maybe in the future. I can’t mess up my case, bro. It’s just not going to be worth it. An article in the paper as opposed to a six or seven-million-dollar settlement? I’m not risking it, sorry.”
