Muni Long born, Priscilla Renea Hamilton, took to Tik Tok to share how Atlantic Records played in her face with one of her many hit singles, “Timber“.

Long, who has been in the industry for over a decade, is known for her songwriting skills. In 2020, she hung up her songwriting hat and released her first single under the stage name Muni Long. The “Hrs & Hrs” singer mentioned three times that Atlantic Records “played in her face”.

The singer discusses her hit single “Timber,” in which the song was originally meant to be given to Flo Rida, who long discloses is her cousin. As we know today, the single is sung by Pitbull and Ke$ha. Long mentions that two weeks before the record was set to drop, she was asked to cut vocals.

Muni discloses that the lyrics had been changed from “woah” to “ooh” because the artist was unable to sing it the way she had. She explains that the individual wanted her to sing under the artist vocals to ensure the single had the same feel. Long states that, in the moment, she felt like Atlantic wanted “it to feel a certain way but look that way.”

The “Made for Me” singer goes on to say she was also was not paid and that one of the artist’s mothers attempted to claim publishing on the single. She further explains that since then, she has started charging for simply showing up to a studio session. The singer states that the only reason she showed up to the studio was because Mike Caren brought her flowers and sent her on a vacation. She ends the video by saying that this is a typically move for Atlantic Records in her situation.
