Eminem is throwing his support behind Kendrick Lamar ahead of the 67th annual Grammy Awards. During SiriusXM’s “Shade 45” 20th anniversary special on Tuesday (Dec. 24), the Detroit rapper shared his predictions for the prestigious event, giving Lamar high praise.

“It’s very stiff competition. Kendrick is gonna sweep that s**t. … He’s going to, and he should,” Eminem confidently stated.

Kendrick’s hit single “Not Like Us” is up for Record of the Year, facing tough competition from Beyoncé’s “TEXAS HOLD ‘EM,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “Espresso,” and Taylor Swift’s “Fortnight” featuring Post Malone. The track has also earned nominations for Song of the Year, Best Music Video, Best Rap Song, and Best Rap Performance. Lamar even scored additional nods in the latter two categories for his contributions to Metro Boomin and Future’s “Like That.”

Eminem, too, is in the running for several major awards this year. His single “Houdini” is a contender in the highly competitive Best Rap Performance category, where it goes up against tracks like Cardi B’s “Enough (Miami),” Doechii’s “NISSAN ALTIMA,” Common and Pete Rock’s “When The Sun Shines Again,” and GloRilla’s “Yeah Glo!” Additionally, his album The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) is a favorite for Best Rap Album.

Interestingly, Eminem referenced Lamar multiple times on his latest project. On tracks like “Lucifer” and the opener “Renaissance,” he addressed critics of Kendrick and other greats.

“Kendrick’s album was cool, but it didn’t have any bangers’/ ‘Wayne’s album or Ye’s, couldn’t tell you which one was lamer,’” he rapped, continuing, “You nerdy pricks would find somethin’ wrong with 36 Chambers/ It’s what they do to the greats/ Pick apart a Picasso and make excuses to hate.”

Eminem and Lamar have shared the stage before, notably during the Super Bowl LVI halftime show in 2022, where Kendrick performed “m.A.A.d city.” Looking ahead, Lamar is set to headline the Super Bowl halftime show in February 2025, marking another major milestone in his career.
