Lil Baby Discloses Near-Arrest Experience with Young Thug

Lil Baby came alarmingly close to Young Thug’s legal troubles, disclosing that he narrowly escaped involvement in the May 2022 arrest of the YSL rapper. During a recent discussion with Lil Yachty on his A Safe Place podcast, according to HipHopDX, Baby shared that he was present at Thug’s residence on the day of the arrest.

“What people don’t know and I don’t even tell people – I could’ve been with him,” he said. “I was at his house the same day. Thank God I just happened to leave two hours early. That’ll fuck your head up more than anything. Like damn I gotta see bro go through this [and] that shit really could have been me.

“A n-gga had to change they whole life around. [This is] not even my rap peer. This is my everyday [friend]. These n-ggas I grew up with.”

Gunna was also taken into custody as part of the YSL RICO case and controversially released last year after accepting a plea deal, a move that has since alienated him from Young Thug, Lil Baby, and many others in their circle.

In a recent episode of Charlamagne Tha God’s Out of Context series on YouTube, Baby was straightforward when asked about his current relationship with Gunna.

“We don’t got no relationship. Nope,” he stated clearly.

When Charlamagne inquired if he would participate in a studio session with Gunna if Thug requested it, Baby responded, “I don’t see that happening. I don’t know what nobody else will do, but as far as me.”

Nonetheless we are pleased to hear that Lil Baby is safe and out of harm’s way.
