Lil Baby Cuts Ties With Gunna Amid Snitching Allegations: “We Don’t Got No Relationship”
Lil Baby has officially ended his work relationship with fellow ATLien Gunna.
Lil Baby has officially closed the chapter on his relationship with Gunna, and fans hoping for a reunion between the two Atlanta rappers may need to let that dream go. In a candid conversation with Charlamagne Tha God on the Out Of Context series, Lil Baby confirmed that the duo is no longer on speaking terms.
“We don’t got no relationship,” Lil Baby admitted when asked about Gunna. Addressing online chatter suggesting that Gunna’s absence might affect his ability to deliver hits, Baby shut down the speculation, saying,
“The internet will say anything. Do you know how many hits I got? So, that don’t even make sense.”
Despite their history of chart-topping collaborations, including their 2018 mixtape Drip Harder and the Diamond-certified smash “Drip Too Hard,” Lil Baby made it clear that a professional reunion is off the table—even if Young Thug were to request it. “I don’t see that happening,” he declared.
Lil Baby doubled down on his stance during a recent appearance on Lil Yachty’s A Safe Place Podcast, where he indirectly addressed his decision to avoid collaborating with alleged snitches. Without naming names, the rapper spoke on the moral lines he won’t cross:
“I always rapped about that type of stuff. I’m a rap about it. [In] my first song, I’m talking about snitching. It’s a permanent thing. Now, it’s just got outrageous with it. Those kind of morals and sh*t are never going to leave. We can’t rap about that if you did that.”
The controversy stems from Gunna’s involvement in the YSL RICO case, where he entered an Alford plea in late 2022, resulting in his release from prison after serving one year. The plea allowed Gunna to maintain his innocence while acknowledging the charges against him. However, the move fueled accusations of snitching, leading to widespread backlash within the Hip-Hop community.
In response to the whispers, Gunna seemingly fired back in his June 2023 track “Bread & Butter,” spitting lines that fans speculated were aimed at both Lil Durk and Lil Baby:
“Peepin’ sh*t, I’m seein’ ni**as fall back / You bi**h-a** ni**as got me as the topic of the chat,” he rapped. “You switched on me when you know you in business with a rat / And the boy that’s like your brother, and nobody speak on that.”
The fallout has sent shockwaves through the Hip-Hop world, leaving fans to reflect on the fragile nature of loyalty and camaraderie in the industry. As Lil Baby continues to rise without Gunna by his side, it’s clear that the “BAND4BAND” rapper is standing firm on his principles—even if it means leaving a celebrated partnership behind.
