SZA Announces ‘LANA (SOS Deluxe)’ Edition with Ben Stiller Teaser
SZA will finally release her SOS deluxe in the form of ‘LANA’ this Friday after much anticipation.
SZA has officially revealed that Lana, the deluxe edition of her chart-topping album SOS, is set to drop this Friday (December 20). The announcement came with an unexpected assist from actor Ben Stiller.
In two teaser videos shared on Monday (December 16), Stiller is seen driving late at night while lip-syncing to a new SZA track titled “Drive.” As the song’s emotional lyrics intensify, Stiller dramatically closes his eyes, momentarily swerving into the wrong lane.

Fans speculate that Stiller may also star in a full-length music video for the upcoming track.
“DELUXE (Lana) 12.20.24,” SZA captioned the post, adding: “THANK YOU @benstiller 🥹🫶.”
The teaser’s style nods to Jack Johnson’s 2003 “Taylor” music video, which also featured Stiller lip-syncing.
SZA and Ben Stiller’s Unlikely Friendship
SZA and Stiller’s friendship blossomed earlier this year thanks to their mutual appreciation for the Apple TV+ series Severance, which Stiller co-directs. SZA publicly expressed her impatience for a new season, tweeting: “Was tryna be polite but I really need a new season of Severance right the fuck now.” Stiller humorously replied: “Ok ok got it.”
Earlier this month, Stiller shared the trailer for Severance’s second season—set to premiere on January 17—with SZA, cementing their quirky camaraderie.
The Journey to Lana
SZA first hinted that Lana would be a standalone project rather than a simple extension of SOS, her acclaimed sophomore album released in December 2022. Speaking on Kai Cenat’s livestream last month, she confirmed:
“There’s a whole new project that you will hear […] It will be out before the year is over.”
However, the deluxe faced delays after several songs leaked online. Frustrated by the situation, SZA announced on social media:
“Y’all leaked three songs from the deluxe. At this point, y’all can keep the throwaways and leaks. I’ll be starting Lana from scratch. Do not ask me about it again. Thank you.”

The release of Lana will precede SZA’s highly anticipated Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar, which begins in April 2025. Fans are eager to see what this new chapter holds as SZA continues to cement her place as one of today’s most celebrated artists.
