Jay-Z Lawyer Denies Close Relationship with Diddy
Jay-Z lawyer, Alex Spiro, has denied a close personal relationship with Sean ‘Diddy‘ Combs amidst ongoing legal issues.
Earlier this month, Jay-Z was accused of having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl in 2000 at an awards show. The lawsuit, filed by an anonymous individual known as ‘Jane Doe,’ states that the assault took place at an MTV Video Music Awards after-party.
In a recent turn of events, Jay-Z’s lawyer is highlighting inconsistencies throughout the lawsuit. Spiro points out that the house mentioned in the lawsuit does not exist: “There is no such location.” Additionally, ‘Jane Doe’ claims she watched the show on a jumbotron outside of Radio City, but there was no jumbotron at the show that year.
The “Empire State of Mind” rapper was also said to be at another event during the time of the alleged assault, with photos to prove it. The lawyer questions the illogical thought process of the victim’s story, who claims that a female celebrity was present for the alleged rape and watched it happen repeatedly.
The victim says she ran out of the house completely nude. Spiro goes on to say, “None of them noticed that. None of them paid any attention. For 24 years, none of them has said anything?” He questions the validity of the victim’s entire story, suggesting that it’s hard to believe no one could have noticed such a young girl in an environment so far beyond her reach.
Spiro made it clear on Monday that, “There is no friendship or longtime bond here.” He went on to say, “Just because they know each other… doesn’t mean anything.” While this statement may raise concerns, as Jay-Z and Diddy have been spotted together multiple times over the years, it is safe to say that the pair has mostly been seen in business settings rather than intimate ones.
Fans of the artists are calling this into question, reflecting on a 2016 moment when Jay-Z and Diddy shared the stage together. During that moment, Diddy made it clear he views Jay-Z as “extended family. You’ve been there with me through my ups and downs, and whenever I get in trouble, this is the one I call, this is my strategist.” While the statement can be interpreted in various ways, it directly contradicts Spiro’s statement.
