JT recently took the Rolling Loud stage as a solo artist for the first time, delivering a powerful performance that left fans buzzing. The “City Cinderella” rapper showed her journey’s emotional depth as the crowd sang along to her hits like “Okay” and “No Bars.” Despite her emotions, the Miami native kept the energy high, delivering an electric performance.

The Era of “City Cinderella”

“City Cinderella,” JT’s debut solo mixtape, dropped on July 19. The 16-track project delves into her early life and her rapid ascent to fame. Featuring collaborations with DJ Khaled, Stunna Girl, Clip, and Jeezy, the mixtape showcases JT’s versatility. Standout singles like “Okay,” “No Bars,” and “Sideways” have quickly become fan favorites.

The City Girls Chapter Closes

Since their explosive debut in 2017, the City Girls brought bold Miami energy to the rap scene, reminiscent of icons like Trina. Over seven years, the duo released one mixtape and three studio albums, cementing their place in hip-hop history. However, their era came to an end as both JT and Yung Miami decided to pursue solo careers.

In an interview with Complex in August, JT shared that the split was mutual and without animosity: “It just made sense for us, and it was no hard feelings.”

JT’s Solo Path While Honoring Her Roots

Despite branching out on her own, JT remains connected to her City Girls legacy.

“I’m like Tina Turner—I’m still a City Girl. I need my name,” she explained.

JT also reflected on the split, emphasizing how natural the transition felt: “It made so much sense for both of us, considering the directions we were heading in and what we were focusing on. There were no hard feelings about it; we saw it coming.”

With her solo career taking off, JT is embracing her individuality while honoring the foundation she built as part of the City Girls, proving that her story is just beginning.
