Two-time GRAMMY nominee and R&B icon Mario has dropped his sixth studio album, Glad You Came, executive produced by the renowned James Fauntleroy. The 13-track project features the Fauntleroy-produced lead single, “Space,” and a guest appearance from rising star Rebe.

This marks Mario’s first album since 2018’s Dancing Shadows and his debut release under his label and production company, New Citizen, in partnership with Epic Records, which he joined in 2023. Known for his timeless R&B classic “Let Me Love You,” Mario describes Glad You Came as the start of a “new era.” Crafted over two years alongside Fauntleroy, the album explores themes of love, heartbreak, and fantasy.

“The conversation throughout the album lends itself to my successes and failures in love, and my imaginations of both,” Mario shares.

Drawing inspiration from icons like Michael Jackson and Marvin Gaye, Mario blends timeless R&B elements with modern twists throughout the album. Tracks like the heartfelt ballad “I’m Sorry” and the vibrant, tropical-infused “Run It Back” showcase the album’s versatility, while staying rooted in the essence of Mario’s artistry.

“This album is an upgraded version of all the things that make me who I am,” the singer explains.

Mario credits his creative synergy with Fauntleroy for much of the album’s magic.

“James and I share a love for timeless music,” he says. “Our stories, experiences, and observations shape everything we create.”

After a period of relative seclusion, Mario has made a triumphant return to the spotlight. Recent appearances include performing his signature hit “Let Me Love You” during Nicki Minaj’s Pink Friday 2 Tour in Los Angeles and joining Drake on stage in Toronto, where his classic records captivated the crowd.

Next year, Mario will embark on The For My Fans Tour alongside Mary J. Blige and Ne-Yo, a major 36-city journey that unites three R&B powerhouses. He’s also set to tour Europe in spring 2025 with Eric Bellinger on the Glad You Came European Tour.

Mario’s return is a celebration of his enduring influence in R&B. Glad You Came is out now on all major platforms.
