Polo G is celebrating a legal victory after successfully having gun charges from his April arrest in New York dismissed.

The Chicago rapper shared the news on his Instagram Story on Monday (December 9) with a screenshot of a message from his attorney confirming the dismissal.

“Congratulations! I just got off the record in front of the judge! Your case is dismissed and sealed!” the message read. Polo G captioned the screenshot, “Beat my gun case in NYC. Shout out to my lawyer Stacey Richmond [heart emojis].”

The charges originated from an incident in April when a loaded Glock with 10 bullets was discovered by a maid in his room at the Dominick Hotel in Manhattan’s SoHo neighborhood. Polo G was arraigned on charges of criminal possession of a firearm and weapon in Manhattan Criminal Court.

During the arraignment, his lawyer argued for no bail, describing Polo as a dedicated professional with no incentive to flee. However, prosecutors cited his prior record, which includes arrests for kidnapping, assault, and robbery, as grounds for a flight risk. Ultimately, the judge set a $25,000 cash bail.

In October, Polo G faced legal trouble again when he was arrested in Los Angeles. Police reportedly discovered a firearm in his car after stopping him for speeding in the San Fernando Valley. He was booked for felony possession of a concealed weapon but later released after authorities determined there were insufficient grounds for a criminal complaint, per California Penal Code Section 849(b)(1).

At 25 years old, Polo G (real name Taurus Tremani Bartlett) continues to navigate the legal system while maintaining his career.
