In the special, which is now streaming, Foxx reflects on his April 2023 health crisis—a brain bleed that led to a stroke. The internet, however, had other theories, with some claiming the incident was tied to a botched hit ordered by Diddy. The speculation even found its way to Joe Rogan’s podcast in November.
Foxx quickly shuts down the rumors in his signature comedic style:
“The internet said that Puffy tried to kill me. That’s what the internet was saying! I know what you’re thinking—‘Did he?’ Hell nah, n-gga. I left them parties early. I was out by 9. Something don’t look right. It’s slippery in here.”

The comedian keeps the laughs coming with more playful jabs at Diddy, referencing his health scare: “I looked at the end of the tunnel and thought I saw the devil like, ‘Come on.’ Or is that Puffy? I’m just messing around.” He also jokes about a bizarre rumor involving baby oil at Diddy’s home, quipping:
“If it was Puffy, he had a flaming bottle of Johnson &… I’m just kidding.”
Despite the humor, Foxx acknowledges the emotional toll of revisiting his near-death experience. In behind-the-scenes footage captured by Gayle King after the special’s final taping in October, he admitted the process was grueling.
“It was an excruciating time to open those wounds every single day for three nights,” he shared. “The worry is the thing. You don’t know what the audience will laugh at or not. Usually, you spend a year and a half preparing a special, but we just turned the camera on in Atlanta. It was a personal journey, and I hope I never have to go through this again. My next jokes will just be ‘Knock, knock!’ for an hour and a half.”
