Jay-Z is pushing back against a lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault, requesting that the plaintiff reveal her identity instead of pursuing the case anonymously, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ.

Filed on Monday by Jay-Z’s attorney Alex Spiro, the motion argues that anonymity is unfair in this case. “Fair is fair,” Spiro wrote.

“It is not consistent with justice, fairness, or the rules governing federal proceedings for the Plaintiff and her counsel to smear [Jay-Z]’s good name.”

The documents further emphasize that Jay-Z has built an “impeccable reputation” and has never been accused of any sexual misconduct in the past.

Allegations and Counterclaims

The plaintiff, currently identified as “Jane Doe,” initially filed a lawsuit against Diddy in October, alleging that she was raped by Diddy and an unnamed celebrity at a VMA after-party in 2000 when she was 13 years old. On Sunday, she refiled the lawsuit, now naming Jay-Z as the previously unidentified individual.

Jay-Z has vehemently denied the allegations, accusing the plaintiff’s attorney, Tony Buzbee, of attempting to blackmail him to prevent his name from becoming public.

In court filings, Jay-Z revealed that he had anonymously filed a lawsuit against Buzbee in November, identifying himself only as a “high-profile individual” who attended Diddy’s parties. He now admits he was the plaintiff in that case, claiming Buzbee and his client added him as a named defendant in retaliation for refusing to comply with their “extortionate” demands.

“This case is about retaliating against the rare target who would not pay,” Jay-Z stated in the documents.

Jay-Z’s Requests to the Court

Jay-Z has asked the judge to compel the plaintiff to disclose her identity, arguing that anonymity unfairly tilts the scales of justice. If the judge does not grant this request, he is seeking to have the case dismissed entirely.

The case continues to unfold, with both sides presenting strong arguments about the balance between privacy and public accountability in high-profile legal disputes.
