50 Cent Reveals Why He Believes Jay-Z Attempted to Sabotage His Super Bowl Show
Cam’ron has launched a new interview series called Talk With Flee, featuring his first guest, his former rival 50 Cent. The discussion proved to be quite engaging. One of the subjects they touched upon was their mutual acquaintance, Jay-Z. Both Cam’ron and 50 Cent have experienced fluctuating relationships with the Brooklyn rapper and entrepreneur, and they have never hesitated to express their opinions about him.
During the conversation, per Billboard, 50 Cent discussed his various business endeavors, including his performance at the 2022 Super Bowl halftime show alongside his mentors, Dr. Dre and Eminem. He shared his thoughts on why he believes Jay-Z attempted to prevent his participation.
As he detailed some of his collaborations with professional sports teams, he paused after stating, “The NFL has no issues with me,” and revisited the Super Bowl topic. Cam’ron then inquired why 50 felt Jay-Z was opposed to his performance and whether he believed Jay felt “threatened” by their ongoing rivalry. “Not even threatened,” the Queens rapper and filmmaker responded. “Our culture is competitive, but when it transcends music to the point of obstructing business opportunities, I find that perplexing.”
“This is why I was saying I knew what ol’ boy was doing with the Super Bowl,” 50 began in reference to HOV. “He was doing some wild sh–, Cam, because he was saying to Em and them that the NFL had the issue with me. And I’m like, ‘Well, what’s the issue? Why don’t they have an issue when I’m becoming a partner with the actual teams? But they have an issue with my performance? It makes no sense.’”
He further remarked, “At this point, he’s not even vying for a position. He doesn’t have a new song aiming for the top 10, yet he’s still in competition. It doesn’t add up. What are we competing for? What’s the objective?”
