Tyla Releases Official Music Video for ‘Shake Ah’
GRAMMY- winning superstar Tyla kicks off Detty December with the release of the visuals to her newest single titled “Shake Ah“.
“Shake Ah” is one of three new singles set to be included on the deluxe edition of Tyla’s debut studio album. The South African studded single features Tony Duardo, EZ Maestro, and Optimist. The video filmed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil starts with Tyla and friends running through the streets and entering in to a dance party. Throughout the film party goers are seen enjoying the music as it over takes their body. At one point in the video Tyla is seen wearing a white masquerade costume a possible nod to Brazilian Carnival.
The single produced by Tony Duardo, Buddy Kay, and MOOTION. It features a typically amapiano beat that causes listeners to want to move. Amapiano originated in South Africa in the 2010s and is a fusion of several genres of music including house, kwaito, jazz, deep house, gqom, and afrobeats.
The South African native showcases her heritage by sining in Northern Sotho. Northern Sotho is one of eleven official languages in the country and is spoken by 8.4% of the population. The “Water” singer is set to perform at several homecoming shows in South Africa. Starting with the exclusive COKE STUDIO™ performance on December 4, the Capetown show on December 5, and a show in Pretoria on December 7.
