Billboard Music Awards Release Their 2024 Finalist

The Billboard Music Awards will be hosted by actress and comedian Michelle Buteau presented by Marriott Bonvoy and produced by Dick Clark Productions. The awards show is set to air on Thursday December 12 at 8:00pm ET/PT on Fox and Fire TV channels, and on demand on Paramount+. Fans are in for special treat as performances will be rolled out across Billboard.com and on BBMAs and Billboard social channels.

2024 marks the shows return to FOX news after a nearly twenty year break. The Billboard Music Awards first aired on FOX in 1990 and ended in 2006 due to contractual expirations and other unforeseen circumstances. From 2007 – 2010 the award show was not aired on and in 2011 it was moved to ABC. The Billboard Music Awards made another move to NBC in early 2018 under a multi-year contract.

The Billboard Music Awards is designed to honor the year’s biggest artists, albums, songs, producers and songwriters across a variety of genres. The information is determined based on the individuals performance metrics on the Billboard charts. The eligibility dates for the 2024 Billboard Music Awards began on October 28, 2023 and ended on October 19, 2024.

This year Zach Bryan leads with 18 awards and 21 total entries with Taylor Swift behind him with 16 awards for 17 entries. Morgan Wallen is up for 15 awards with 13 entries and Sabrina Carpenter is fourth with a total on 9 entries. Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone, Teddy Swim, Tyla, Bad Bunny, and more are other finalist who are leading with five or more entries.
