Cardi B Says Partying Helps Her Cope With Offset Divorce: ‘I Have to Enjoy Myself’

Cardi B has been hitting the party scene frequently as she navigates her divorce from Offset, admitting that it has been a helpful distraction during this challenging time. However, she recently revealed she’s ready to take a step back and focus on her music.

During an Instagram Live session on Sunday night (November 17), the Bronx superstar reflected on her recent lifestyle but assured fans that the partying will take a backseat.

“I feel like I been going outside [a lot],” she shared. “I have to. It’s like, I’m getting through a divorce, so I have to enjoy myself. I gotta enjoy myself, you know what I’m saying? But all I know is, no more outside! We gotta be inside. Chain us up to the muthaf**kin’ mic!”

During the same Live, Cardi promised that her long-awaited sophomore album is set to arrive in 2025, despite previously assuring fans it would drop in 2024. Her debut album, Invasion of Privacy, was released in April 2018, making it over six years since she has released a full-length project.

“I’ve been feeling so emotional lately,” she said. “Because I know next year is going to be my f**king year. This has been the most weirdest year I have ever experienced. I don’t know what the f**k happened this year, I can’t even tell you. […] I fell in love. Then fell out of love, then got a divorce.”

Cardi added that life has been moving quickly for her, and she wants to ensure she’s in the right place moving forward.

“I don’t know what the f**k is going on. I’m going through a very different transition in my f**king life and life is moving a little bit too fast. I don’t want to crash. I have to get my s**t together. Next year, my album will be out, my secret businesses will be out. I can’t tell you what I’m working on. Hopefully next year I get me a little boyfriend. I’m hoe-less right now. I gotta get my st together.”

While Cardi initially promised her new album would drop in 2024, that announcement came before she found out she was pregnant with her third child and before her relationship with Offset hit a rough patch. Since giving birth in September, Cardi has been seen in the studio frequently, signaling her determination to fulfill her updated promise of delivering the album in 2025. Fans are eager to see what the next chapter of her career and personal life will hold.
