Jamal “Shyne” Barrow continues to open up about his turbulent relationship with Sean “Diddy” Combs, detailing explosive allegations during a recent Breakfast Club interview to promote his Hulu documentary, The Honorable Shyne.

The former Bad Boy Records artist claimed he attempted to spit in Diddy’s face during a prison visit after being convicted for his role in the infamous 1999 Club New York shooting. Shyne served nearly a decade behind bars, claiming he was made the “fall guy” for the incident while Diddy was acquitted of all charges.

“He came to see me once, and I tried to spit in his face,” Shyne revealed. “I didn’t even know he was coming to see me. They just brought me down in the lawyer’s office.”

Shyne also recounted a 2012 reconciliation attempt years after his 2009 release, during which he believed Diddy failed to adequately compensate him for remaining silent. “He owes me his life,” Shyne said, asserting that his refusal to cooperate with authorities preserved Diddy’s career.

“That’s worth at least a couple million dollars out of the billion that you’re worth.”

Instead, Shyne alleged that Diddy offered him only $50,000—a sum he called “insulting” given the years he spent in prison.

The tension between the two has resurfaced following Shyne’s claims in The Honorable Shyne, where he insinuated that Diddy may have been the gunman during the Club New York incident. Diddy has categorically denied these allegations.

“Mr. Combs categorically denies Mr. Barrow’s allegations… These claims are unequivocally false,” Diddy’s lawyers stated. They emphasized Diddy’s acquittal and expressed disappointment in Shyne’s revisiting of these events.

Shyne’s assertions have reignited public debate over the infamous shooting, drawing attention to the long-standing fallout between the two. Watch Shyne’s full Breakfast Club interview for more on his side of the story.
