Quavo Advocates for Enhanced Gun Control Policies from Donald Trump
Quavo has cultivated an image as a trapper through his music, yet in recent years, the Migos rapper has taken a firm stance advocating for gun control. The tragic loss of his nephew, Takeoff, has inspired him to seek positive change within his community and beyond. This commitment initially attracted him to Democratic nominee Kamala Harris. With Donald Trump now poised to assume the presidency, according to HotNewHipHop, Quavo is extending a similar appeal to the Republican party.
In a recent conversation with TMZ regarding the election results, Quavo emphasized his desire for constructive change, irrespective of the political party in power.
“I think [Harris] did a great job,” Quavo said, when asked about the VP. “[The] foundation I was pushing was about gun violence, so I feel like whoever is in office needs to handle that problem.” Quavo refrained from directly naming Trump; however, he emphasized his commitment to ensuring that his personal political views do not hinder the advancement of the United States.”It’s a universal problem, so it doesn’t have any red or blue on there,” the rapper asserted. “Gun violence [prevention] is for everybody and the world.”
When asked if he believes Trump will support the same gun policies that Harris championed, Quavo did not provide a definitive answer but expressed his optimism. “I feel like he should,” he noted. “I feel like every president should.”
Over the past few months, Quavo’s dedication to preventing gun violence has intensified. His participation in a Harris campaign rally in August brought attention to his advocacy efforts, reaching those who may not have been aware of his campaign.
At the rally, Quavo urged attendees to prioritize gun prevention as a critical issue for all Americans. “You can’t understand the struggle of gun violence if you are not in the field or in the heart of it,” he said.
Despite his past criticisms of Trump, including a tweet in 2019 about serving fast food to the Clemson Tigers championship team, Quavo is demonstrating a willingness to set aside personal biases for the sake of a greater cause.
