Beyoncé to Deliver a Special Christmas Halftime Show in Houston
Beyoncé has a special treat for her fans on Christmas Day.
Football fans are in for a treat this Christmas as Beyoncé takes center stage during halftime at the Houston Texans’ game against the Baltimore Ravens on December 25.
The iconic singer, and Houston native, made the announcement on Sunday (November 17) with a teaser trailer. The clip features Beyoncé catching a football and singing into a microphone while perched on a classic muscle car decorated with red roses and a longhorn, nodding to her Texan roots.
The performance will air during the game, which is being broadcast by Netflix, alongside the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Christmas matchup. According to the streaming giant, Beyoncé will be joined by “special guests” featured on her critically acclaimed album, Cowboy Carter.
This highly anticipated show will mark Beyoncé’s first live performance of material from Cowboy Carter, which has earned multiple Grammy nominations for 2025. It will also be her first NFL halftime performance in nearly a decade since her cameo with Coldplay and Bruno Mars at Super Bowl 50, and her iconic solo headlining performance at the 2013 Super Bowl.
Reflecting on the groundbreaking success of Cowboy Carter, which blends country influences with her signature style, Beyoncé told The Hollywood Reporter:
“When you are breaking down barriers, not everyone is ready and open for a shift. But when I see Shaboozey tearing the charts up and all the beautiful female country singers flying to new heights, inspiring the world, that is exactly what motivates me.”
Beyoncé highlighted the album’s cultural impact and its role in broadening perceptions of genre:
“I’m honored to introduce so many people to the roots of so many genres. I’m so thrilled that my fans trusted me. The music industry gatekeepers are not happy about the idea of bending genres, especially coming from a Black artist and definitely not a woman.”
With Cowboy Carter breaking records and redefining musical boundaries, Beyoncé’s Christmas Day halftime show promises to be a powerful celebration of her artistry and cultural influence. Fans and football enthusiasts alike are eagerly counting down to the performance.
