Lil Durk has entered a not-guilty plea to federal criminal charges stemming from an alleged murder-for-hire scheme, as reported by Rolling Stone. The rapper is scheduled to face trial in California on January 7, 2025. Currently in federal custody in Los Angeles, Durk has also postponed the release of his upcoming album, Deep Thoughts, which was originally slated to drop this fall.

The charges against Lil Durk include conspiracy to use interstate facilities to commit murder-for-hire resulting in death, along with two additional weapons-related offenses.

According to the federal indictment, prosecutors allege that Durk, along with five other individuals purportedly connected to his Only the Family (OTF) collective, orchestrated a plan to kill fellow rapper Quando Rondo. This act was reportedly intended as retaliation for the murder of King Von, a close friend and collaborator of Durk.

The indictment claims that Lil Durk masterminded the scheme and offered financial compensation to ensure Quando Rondo was killed. The attempt on Quando Rondo’s life allegedly led to the death of his cousin, Saviay’a Tilal “Lul Pab” Robinson, according to prosecutors.
