Uncle Luke Slams Latino Community for Trump Support in 2024 Election
Uncle Luke slams Latinos for voting for Donald Trump; says African Americans should not stand in solidarity with them.
Hip hop icon Uncle Luke didn’t hold back his criticism of the Latino community for supporting Donald Trump in the recent 2024 presidential election. The 2 Live Crew rapper, who has publicly supported Kamala Harris, expressed frustration on Instagram Live over Latino and Hispanic voters who backed Trump despite his anti-immigration stance.
“All y’all who didn’t vote for Kamala, y’all stupid ass gon’ get deported,” he said. “We are not going out there to march. Black people are not going to march for you.”
He continued, saying the outcome revealed a “line drawn” between communities, reflecting frustration over the perceived abandonment of alliances in past social justice movements.
According to Reuters, 46% of Hispanic voters cast ballots for Trump, marking a notable increase from his 2020 turnout among Latino voters. Despite criticism over Trump’s past statements about Mexico and Puerto Rico, support within the Latino community rose, illustrating a significant shift in voting patterns.
Uncle Luke wasn’t alone in his response, although reactions within hip hop varied. 50 Cent celebrated Trump’s win, posting on Instagram with the caption, “I don’t care how the fight goes, I’m leaving with the winner.” Lil Pump also shared his disapproval of pro-Harris endorsements, saying, “All these rappers that got paid to endorse Kamala Harris… you can’t pay me to endorse Donald Trump. I stand on what’s right.”
This polarized response from hip hop personalities underlines the complex political landscape of the 2024 election, especially as traditionally marginalized communities re-evaluate their alliances and priorities.
